VNT expands focus on high-power EV charging solutions for commercial fleets

VNT is expanding its focus on high-power EV charging solutions to support the electrification of commercial and industrial vehicle fleets in India.

VNT’s product portfolio includes AC chargers ranging from 3.3 kW for residential and commercial applications to DC fast chargers with capacities of up to 1.4 MW. These charging systems are intended for electric passenger vehicles, buses, trucks, mining equipment, port vehicles, and other industrial applications.

According to the company, the growing adoption of electric vehicles by fleet operators is being supported by government initiatives, including the FAME scheme and various state EV policies, alongside efforts to reduce operating costs and emissions.

Commenting on the development, Vrinda Almadi of VNT said “Fleet electrification is moving from aspiration to action. For fleet operators, the shift is increasingly being driven by a combination of lower operating costs, sustainability targets, and a rapidly evolving policy environment. At VNT, our focus is on developing reliable, scalable EV chargers that can support this transition across vehicle segments, from passenger vehicles to heavy-duty commercial and industrial applications, and help accelerate the adoption of electric mobility.”

The company noted that charging requirements vary by application. Electric buses and long-haul trucks typically require charging capacities between 240 kW and 640 kW, while mining, port, and other industrial vehicles may require charging systems with capacities approaching or exceeding 1 MW. To address these requirements, VNT’s charging systems incorporate thermal management, power electronics, and enclosures intended for industrial operating conditions.

VNT also follows an in-house research, development, and manufacturing model. It is investing in high-power and megawatt charging technologies, expanding its manufacturing capacity, and strengthening partnerships to support commercial fleet operators in domestic and international markets.

The company said it will continue to develop EV charging solutions for the transportation, logistics, industrial, mining, and infrastructure sectors as electrification expands across these segments.
