LOHUM and Vecmocon collaborate to enhance EV battery lifecycle management

LOHUM, an Indian sustainable energy transition materials producer, and Vecmocon, an Indian EV intelligence company with investment support from Tiger Global and Blume Ventures, will collaborate for lifecyle management of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The partnership aims to accelerate second-life battery use and power 100,000 LIB-enabled EVs over 2 years with AI-powered BMS by determining battery residual value. The partnership combines LOHUM’s battery testing technology with Vecmocon’s battery intelligence and real-time data monitoring capabilities.

The core of this technological synergy lies in the enhancement of battery safety, reliability, and longevity through advanced battery analytics. Vecmocon’s real-time data attributes, propelled by Machine Learning algorithms and garnered through its i-VEC™ drive offering, will be seamlessly integrated with LOHUM’s data systems. This integration will optimize EV battery utilization, elongating battery lifespan, facilitating secondary usage, and streamlining the recycling of Li-ion batteries.

LOHUM’s expertise in battery second life is set to be complemented by Vecmocon’s cutting-edge Vehicle Intelligence Platform. This amalgamation will bolster the precision of LOHUM’s DETX™ platform (Battery Buyback & Battery Materials Price Index), which is responsible for predicting the value of batteries over time and steering recycling decisions for end-of-life batteries. This collaboration thereby presents an industry-leading approach to evaluating battery asset value.

Vecmocon and LOHUM are planning to power over 100,000 batteries within the next two years, claimed an official statement. This initiative has the potential to significantly impact the Electric Vehicle (EV) landscape by effectively decreasing EV financing and insurance expenses and enhancing affordability. Additionally, it seeks to introduce transparency to the used energy transition asset ecosystem, added the release.

“Vecmocon and LOHUM share a common vision of a cleaner and more sustainable future, and this strategic partnership is a significant step toward achieving that goal. By combining our expertise and resources, we aim to drive the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in India and revolutionize the way we use and recycle batteries. This collaboration will help our clients in improving the performance of their batteries & extending life, thus improving vehicle performance. This collaboration will also help the complete EV ecosystem of service, insurance, finance and used vehicle marketplaces. We are super excited to partner with LOHUM in our journey”, said Peeyush Asati, Founder & CEO, Vecmocon.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Vecmocon, as the partnership aligns perfectly with our shared mission of advancing sustainable technologies. Vecmocon’s mission of making EVs intelligent & safe via its cutting-edge technology by harnessing the power of advanced battery analytics significantly aligns with our core capabilities of enabling 2nd life use of batteries. Together, we will contribute to a closed loop circular economy and create a more sustainable ecosystem for electric vehicles in India.” – Rajat Verma, Founder & CEO, LOHUM.
