Jupiter launches JEM TEZ at ₹10.35 lakh and opens manufacturing facility in Indore
Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the electric vehicle division of the Jupiter Group, has announced the launch of its electric light commercial vehicle, JEM TEZ, along with the inauguration of its manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Indore.
The event was attended by key representatives from the Jupiter Group, including Managing Director Vivek Lohia and Deputy Managing Director Vikash Lohia. The JEM TEZ features a certified range of over 190 kilometers, an 80kW peak motor power, 23% gradeability, and a 1.05-ton certified payload capacity. It supports fast charging, gaining over 100 kilometers of range in one hour on any CCS2 charger. The vehicle is introduced at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹10.35 lakh.

To support production and expansion, JEM has established a manufacturing facility in Pithampur, spanning 2.5 acres. The facility includes an in-house skateboard platform and a vehicle assembly unit. The plant is designed to produce 8,000 to 10,000 e-LCVs annually, with a phased capacity expansion plan. It aligns with India’s Make in India and Vision@2047 initiatives, aimed at increasing domestic EV manufacturing and reducing import dependency.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Vivek Lohia, Managing Director, Jupiter Group, stated, “The inauguration of our Pithampur facility marks a defining movement for JEM and India’s sustainable mobility future. With advanced manufacturing and cutting-edge technology, we aim to set new EV industry benchmarks while driving economic growth, infrastructure development, and job creation. With an initial annual capacity of 8,000 to 10,000 e-LCVs, JEM has set its sights on ambitious growth, aiming to significantly ramp up production volumes in the future. We are aiming to achieve a revenue of ₹100 crore in our first year of operations, with a projected year-on-year growth of at least 2X. This growth strategy includes expanding our product portfolio with new variants to meet evolving market demands. We have built an integrated ecosystem that ensures reliability, efficiency, and sustainability for commercial fleet operators. This facility represents our commitment to innovation, community empowerment, and a cleaner, greener future.”
Jupiter Electric Mobility plans a phased rollout of JEM TEZ across multiple cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. The company is working with partners such as Porter, Pulse Energy, Battwheel, and Tapfin to develop an EV ecosystem, which includes charging infrastructure, financing solutions, and after-sales support.
