JSW MG Motor India Launches the MG Hector Tomahawk in EV and PHEV

JSW MG Motor India launches EV and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) versions of MG Hector Tomahawk, which is engineered on MG’s newly developed Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology (ADAPT).

Introductory Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) price for a limited number of bookings of MG Hector Tomahawk:

  • EV variant starts at ₹13.99 lakh + 4.90 Rs/Km Battery Rental, and
  • PHEV variant starts at ₹21.79 lakh + 3.20 Rs/Km Battery Rental

Introductory ex-showroom price for full vehicle ownership:

  • EV variant at ₹19.49 lakh, and
  • PHEV variant at ₹25.69 lakh

The models are available in seven signature colours including two dual-tone options, with an Assured Buy Back Program available and a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner for both EV and PHEV.

The company claims the 20.5 kWh battery pack of the PHEV model is capable of delivering 115+ km of pure-electric range and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in ~9 seconds. The model is equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 148-kW electric motor, and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

The EV model has a 69.2 kWh MAGIC Battery, for a claimed range of 517 km on a single charge, 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. The model also supports DC fast charging of up to 90 kW.

The company claims to deliver Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability, turning the SUV into a mobile power source for the household.

The Intelligent Energy Management System offers four drive modes:

  • Pure Electric Drive
  • Series Hybrid Drive
  • Parallel Hybrid Drive
  • Engine Direct Drive
