Ather Energy debuts the Rizta family scooter, priced from INR 1,09,999
Ather Energy, an Indian electric scooter manufacturer, unveiled its latest model, the Rizta, at the second edition of the Ather Community Day in Bengaluru. Positioned as a family scooter, it is priced at INR 1,09,999 (Ex-showroom Bengaluru). Bookings are now available, with deliveries set to commence in June 2024.
According to the company statement, the features of Rizta includes:
- The Rizta lineup includes two models: Rizta S and Rizta Z, both featuring a 2.9 kWh battery, and the top-end Rizta Z model equipped with a 3.7 kWh battery.
- The 2.9 kWh variants offer a range of 123 kms, while the 3.7 kWh variant provides a range of 160 kms.
- Rizta S is available in three monotone colors, while Rizta Z comes in seven colors, including three monotone and four dual-tone options.
- The scooter has a large seat and floorboard, along with significant storage capacity, including a 34L underseat capacity and an optional 22L Frunk accessory.
- Optional multi-purpose charger with an 18W power output available for electronic devices.
- Introduction of SkidControl™ traction control system, powered by the in-house developed Ather Drive Controller™ (ADC™), to regulate motor torque and prevent loss of traction on low friction surfaces.
- Inclusion of safety features like FallSafe™, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Theft & Tow Detect, and Find My Scooter.
- All Rizta variants feature a top speed of 80 kmph and two riding modes: Zip and SmartEco.
- Various ride assist features like MagicTwist™, AutoHold™, and Reverse Mode.
- Precise control with low center of gravity, balanced weight distribution, and a shorter 1286mm wheelbase.
Tarun Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO, Ather Energy, said, “We entered the two-wheeler market with our performance scooter, the 450 series, which was recognised in the industry. Now, we are setting foot in the family segment with the Rizta, which has been designed and engineered with the Indian family in mind. Rizta will reflect Ather’s proposition of quality, reliability, and safety.”
Ather introduces the Ather Halo, a smart helmet developed with Harman Kardon, featuring auto WearDetect technology, wireless charging, and Ather ChitChat™ for helmet-to-helmet communication, available in two colors. Additionally, Ather introduces HALO Bit, a module for half face helmets, and offers an ISI and DOT rated custom half face helmet compatible with HALO Bit, priced at INR 12,999 and INR 4,999 respectively.
Swapnil Jain, Co-founder & CTO of Ather Energy said, “We wanted to transform helmets from a mere compulsion to an integral part of a fun, engaging ride. So we built the HALO, our first smart helmet which offers premium sound by Harmon Kardon and integrates our proprietary auto WearDetect technology and wireless charging. With HALO we made sure that the experience extends to the pillion with features such as ChitChatTM and music sharing. “
Ather introduces AtherStack 6.0, the latest software upgrade for its scooters, with features including WhatsApp integration, live location sharing, ping my scooter, auto-reply to calls, and Alexa integration. Existing owners will receive the update over the air. The new mobile app offers a personalized experience with features like WidgetX and detailed ride insights, allowing riders to access information via voice command. The company also introduced a new mobile app with personalized features and insights, as stated in their official statement.
“AtherStack has been an integral part of our product strategy since the launch of our first scooter, allowing us to constantly enhance our product experience. With new features like WhatsApp on the dashboard, live location sharing and voice commands, we believe Ather Stack 6.0 will bring an important upgrade to rider safety, convenience and connectivity. Optimising the touchscreen dashboard and revamping the mobile app will offer a seamless ownership experience to both Rizta and Ather 450 customers” added Swapnil Jain, Co-founder & CTO of Ather Energy.
All three variants of the Ather Rizta come with a 5-year optional warranty program, ‘Ather Battery Protect’, extending battery warranty to 5 years/60,000 kms and guaranteeing a minimum of 70% state-of-health at the end of 5 years, as claimed by the company statement. For home charging, Rizta S and Rizta Z (2.9 kWh) come with a 350W Ather portable charger, while Rizta Z (3.7 kWh) comes with a 700W Ather Duo charger. Owners will also have access to Ather’s fast-charging network with 1800+ charging points. Prices start at INR 1,09,999 lakh for Rizta S (2.9 kWh) and INR 124,999 for Rizta Z (2.9 kWh) and INR 144,999 for Rizta Z (3.7 kWh) ex-showroom Bengaluru.
