JBM EV unveils electric city bus ‘ECOLIFE’ at UITP summit 2025 in Hamburg

JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), an electric mobility company and part of the JBM Group, launched its all-electric city bus, ECOLIFE, at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2025 in Hamburg, Germany. The launch marks the company’s official entry into the European market, where it aims to offer mobility solutions tailored to local requirements. The bus was unveiled by Mr. Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of the JBM Group.

According to the company, the ECOLIFE electric bus offers a driving range of up to 400 km on a single charge and supports ultra-fast charging. It is equipped with modular battery packs, lithium-ion batteries with a thermal management system, and a regenerative braking system. The bus features interiors made with recycled materials, including seats and fabrics. Powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor, it also includes a battery management system (BMS) and vehicle control unit (VCU) to support performance and safety.

The ECOLIFE bus includes several safety features such as Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), emergency braking, forward collision warnings, lane departure alerts, pedestrian and cyclist warnings, blind spot detection, fire detection and suppression systems, and telematics. It is built with a monocoque stainless steel body and meets Intelligent Transport System requirements under EU standards.

To support its European operations, JBM EV has established a regional headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. The office will oversee marketing, sales, aftersales, and partnerships in the region. Daniel Frade has been appointed Director of Sales, Marketing, and After Sales – Europe.

JBM EV has also entered into a leasing partnership with KazenMaier in Germany. The agreement involves the deployment of over 100 electric buses in the country.

At the UITP event, JBM EV also presented its E-Verse ecosystem, which integrates fast charging infrastructure, Lithium-ion battery technology, and related services. The ecosystem is designed to support uninterrupted fleet operations and forms part of the company’s broader e-mobility strategy.

JBM EV has reported deployment or orders for 11,000 electric buses globally and operates a manufacturing facility in India with an annual production capacity of 20,000 units. According to the company, its electric buses have covered over 165 million electric kilometers and transported over 1 billion passengers, leading to significant fuel savings and emission reductions. JBM aims to reach 3 billion electric kilometers and serve over 10 billion passengers within the next 3–4 years.

JBM EV’s European offerings have been developed in alignment with standards and practices in the region and support several UN Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
