EMO Energy raises $6.2 million in Series A funding
EMO Energy, a Bengaluru-based energy-tech startup, has secured $6.2 million in a Series A funding round led by Subhkam Ventures, with participation from the existing investor, Transition VC. Founded in 2022 by Sheetanshu Tyagi and Rahul Patel, EMO Energy focuses on developing battery software and hardware solutions for mobility and energy storage.

The company’s technology stack, ZEN, incorporates a Cell Agnostic system that supports 20-minute charging and battery life extension to over five years. Its offerings include an AI-driven Battery Management System, Active Thermal Management, and machine learning-based battery life optimization algorithms, applicable across electric two-wheelers, light commercial vehicles, and industrial energy storage systems.
The funds will be used to scale energy solutions for two- and three-wheelers to over 1 lakh vehicles in the next two years and to deploy 1 GWh of energy storage. Part of the investment will strengthen R&D for the company’s battery health extension software and support team expansion.

Co-founder and CEO Sheetanshu Tyagi stated, “Our focus is to create an integrated urban energy solution by deploying batteries and chargers in energy storage and light mobility. Over the last 12 months, EMO has forged critical high-volume partnerships across major OEM’s, and with the latest infusion of capital, we are now well-equipped to scale from 2 to 2000 kWh. EMO is creating an ecosystem where dark stores and commercial establishments will have EMO enabled Delivery Vehicles powered by EMO Fast Chargers and Energy Storage Systems, all managed by an integrated Energy Management Software. This funding will accelerate our mission to reshape the future of urban India and expand our impact on sustainable solutions for the future of clean energy.”

To date, EMO Energy has deployed more than 2,000 battery packs in the mobility sector and is piloting energy storage systems for industrial and commercial applications such as peak shaving and diesel generator replacement. Its clients include Kinetic Green, BigBasket, Domino’s, and Blinkit.
