Ultraviolette Announces New BIGGA Manufacturing Facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu
Ultraviolette Automotive has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri, in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The facility, named BIGGA (Big Global Ambition) Factory, will manufacture the company’s upcoming Tesseract electric scooter and support production of its future motorcycle and scooter models.
The facility will be developed in phases, with production capacity planned to reach 250,000 vehicles annually. The infrastructure will be scalable to support production of up to 500,000 vehicles per year, depending on demand.
The BIGGA Factory will manufacture the Tesseract electric scooter and support Ultraviolette’s future product portfolio across Sports, Crossover, Cruiser, Street and scooter segments. According to the company’s 2027 product roadmap, Ultraviolette plans to expand beyond its performance bike lineup (F-Series, X-Series and Shockwave) with two new electric scooters scheduled to launch from Q1 2027. The company expects the facility to create around 2,000 jobs in its initial phase, with employment expected to increase over the next five years as operations scale.
The manufacturing facility will use Industry 4.0 systems, including a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for production tracking and traceability. It will also include digital lean manufacturing and digital quality systems. Automation at the facility will include collaborative robots for sorting, welding and assembly, automated assembly error-proofing systems, and vision-based inspection systems. A dedicated test track will also be used for vehicle testing before dispatch.
The Tamil Nadu government will facilitate the allotment of land for the facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri. The location provides access to the automotive supplier network in the Hosur-Bengaluru region and is located near Ultraviolette’s R&D operations and existing suppliers. The BIGGA Factory will operate alongside Ultraviolette’s existing manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The company said the new facility will increase its production capacity for the Tesseract and future products for the Indian and international markets.

Ultraviolette was founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan. The company develops electric vehicle platforms and battery technology and currently operates its manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.
