EKA Mobility launches 9-metre electric school bus
EKA Mobility has launched the EKA 9M Electric School Bus at Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar, expanding its electric commercial vehicle portfolio.
The bus has been developed for school transportation and is built on the company’s monocoque platform with a high-strength steel structure. It has seating for up to 43 passengers and a driver and complies with AIS 052 standards.
The vehicle is equipped with an Electronic Braking System (EBS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and air suspension. The EKA 9M Electric School Bus is offered with 100 kWh and 200 kWh LFP battery packs. According to the company, it delivers a driving range of up to 180 km on a single charge and supports CCS2 fast charging, with a charging time of under 1 hour and 45 minutes.

At Prawaas 5.0, the company is also displaying the EKA Coach, the EKA 12M Low Entry Electric Bus, the EKA 3S and the EKA 6S. According to the company, these vehicles are intended for city transit, institutional transport and last-mile passenger mobility.
The company stated that it continues to develop electric commercial vehicles through in-house product development and manufacturing, while expanding its product portfolio to support electric mobility adoption by fleet operators and institutions.
EKA Mobility is exhibiting its products at Hall 1, Stall 103, Helipad Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, from July 9 to 11, 2026.
