Ather 450X and Ather 450 – A Quick Comparison

Ather Energy have recently launched Ather 450X, that is an upgrade over its flagship electric scooter Ather 450.

From above specifications, it is clear that Ather 450X offers enhancement in terms of performance characteristics and style options (available in 3 green and grey as well) over Ather 450 (only white) and comes at a lower price. Ather 450x also boasts of a Snapdragon 212 processor with integrated 4G LTE, dark mode for round-the-clock visibility and Android Open Source operating system. Reports suggest that the company is looking to discontinue Ather 450 after completing current batch orders.

According to company website, Preorders for Ather 450x are open for Bengaluru, Chennai, NCR, Mumbai, Pune & Hyderabad. The company is expected to confirm the launch in Kochi, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mysore, Goa, Bhubaneswar, Thiruvananthapuram, Vadodara, Nashik, Jaipur in due time.

Ather Energy was founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. According to Crunchbase, the company has so far raised $91 million from Flipkart founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, Hero Motorcorp, and Tiger Global. Ather Energy introduced electric scooters Ather 340 and Ather 450 in 2018 in Bengaluru. Ather 340 was later discontinued in September 2019 due to low demand.
