ZF CVCS wins ADAS supply contract from Indian electric commercial vehicle manufacturer

ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited (CVCS) has secured a business nomination from an Indian electric commercial vehicle OEM to develop and calibrate an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite aligned with the upcoming Indian safety regulation (GSR 184e).

The ADAS solution includes ZF’s OnGuardMAX system and short-range radar technology, providing 16 functions including Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning System (DDAWS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Moving Off Information System (MOIS). The solution is certified by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for compliance with GSR 184e.

The business nomination covers ADAS components for 13.5-meter coaches, heavy-duty trucks (55-ton), tractor-trailers, and buses (7m, 9m, 12m). The system supports SAE Level 2 automation and is designed to enable higher automation levels for global applications.

ZF reports that the ADAS solution has been tested for more than 300,000 km on Indian roads and 65,000 km in collaboration with customers. It complies with Indian homologation standards, including AIS-162 (AEBS), AIS-184 (DDAW), AIS-186 (BSIS), AIS-187 (MOIS) and AIS-188 (LDWS). The company states that the solution is positioned to support future automation requirements and evolving mobility and safety needs in commercial transportation.
