According to the company, more than ₹750 crore has been deployed towards R&D, product development, manufacturing and market expansion.
Matter is also expanding its retail network across motorcycle-focused markets in India. In terms of product development, the company plans to introduce four motorcycles based on the AERA platform over the next 12–24 months, using the same in-house powertrain, battery and software architecture.
Over the past four years, the company has developed an electric motorcycle with an in-house powertrain, battery systems, control electronics and software. Manufacturing is carried out at its facility in Ahmedabad.
The company has also developed HyperShift, a manual gearbox system for an electric motorcycle, incorporating a clutch and gear-shifting mechanism.
According to Matter, its intellectual property portfolio includes 111 granted patents, and it received the Best Patent Portfolio award at the CII Industrial Intellectual Property Awards 2025. The company also said that its AERA motorcycle has covered more than 10 million kilometres in real-world usage, with the data informing subsequent product development.
The company is now expanding its production capacity. Monthly capacity is planned to increase to 1,000 motorcycles and subsequently to 2,500 motorcycles over the following months. The company said the new funding will support production capacity expansion, retail network growth and the development of additional products.
