Uno Minda approves new EV casting facility in Aurangabad

On June 19, 2025, Uno Minda Limited announced that the Committee of its Board of Directors has approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for setting up a new manufacturing facility for casting components at Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad. The plant is intended to support the growing demand from OEMs for electric vehicle (EV) casting parts.

The proposed facility will have a total production capacity of 3,629 metric tonnes per annum, to be implemented in a phased manner over the next five years. Phase 1 is expected to begin operations in the second quarter of FY 2026–27. The estimated capital expenditure for the project is approximately INR 210 crore, which will be financed through a mix of internal accruals and term loans.

The project forms part of Uno Minda’s business expansion strategy in the EV segment. The company’s existing casting capacity and utilization levels for EV parts are currently nil.
