Tsuyo partners with China’s CETL to develop electric powertrain in India
Delhi based Tsuyo Manufacturing recently joined hands with Ningde Contemporary Electric Technology Co., Ltd (CETL) to develop electric powertrains for the Indian market. The products will be jointly developed and manufactured in TSUYO’s Greater Noida manufacturing plant. TSUYO is looking to invest USD 8 Million in R&D and approximately USD 50 Million in the coming 6 years to manufacture electric powertrain with high efficiencies, higher torque & better reliability for the Indian conditions, a company statement said.
TSUYO was established in August 2020 and has been selling electric motors for e-rickshaws and High speed electric 3W categories. According to a company statement, they are supplying to more than 25 OEMs in 1 kW to 3 kW BLDC category and 1.5 kW -15 kW PMSM category for e-mobility applications. The company is backed by ex-professionals from organisations like Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Hitachi, Samsung & BHEL.
“CETL is a sister concern of CATL (world’s largest battery company), which was restructured and established in April 2017“, added Lalit Baid – Director at Tsuyo Manufacturing. CETL’s main business is to design and manufacture 2KW-600KW motor electronic control and wheel motor bridge assembly system, hub motor, low-speed high-torque high-efficiency energy-saving permanent magnet motor, and other high-tech electromechanical products and the company has formed strategic partnerships with mainstream domestic car companies in China.
