Tata Motors introduces Punch.ev starting at INR 10.99 Lakh
Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, has launched its first electric vehicle (EV), the Punch.ev, at an initial price of INR 10.99 Lakh. The Punch.ev is based on Tata’s Pure EV architecture, acti.ev (Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle), and is available in three personas – Smart, Adventure, and Empowered. It will be accessible at Tata Motors showrooms and Tata.ev stores nationwide.

Its features include:
- The Punch.ev offers two battery pack options: a 25 kWh pack with a range of 315 km and a 35 kWh pack with a range of 421 km.
- Two e-Drive options are available: a 60 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC Motor with 114 Nm of torque and a 90 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC Motor with 190 Nm of torque.
- The vehicle accelerates 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 140 km/h.
- Both the battery pack and motor have an IP67 rating, providing protection against dust and water.
- The warranty for the battery pack and motor is 8 years or 1,60,000 km.
- The Punch.ev Long Range (LR) model features 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW AC fast chargers for home or workplace installation.
- It supports DC Fast Charging, allowing a 56-minute charge from 10% to 80% using any 50 kW DC fast charger.
- Guided by a digital design approach, the Punch.ev incorporates smart lighting features, including a charging indicator for SOC levels, bi-functional LEDs, and a Welcome and Goodbye signature.
- The vehicle includes a 26cm digital cockpit and a 26cm infotainment display by HARMAN.
- In-cabin experience features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, voice assistants, and the ZConnect Connected Car Technology.
- Additional features comprise wireless charging, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated leatherette seats, an electric sunroof, mood lights, and an air purifier with AQI display.
- Fast charging is facilitated through the 45W type-C USB port, and it includes Paddle Shifters for Multi-Mode Regeneration and over-the-air software upgrades.
- Safety features include 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Program, ISOFIX, Roll-over mitigation, Brake Disc Wiping, Hydraulic fading compensation, SOS Calling with E-Call & B-Call, an Electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, and a 360 surround-view camera system with a blind spot monitor in high-end trims.
- Designed as a practical electric SUV, the Punch.EV features 16-inch LRR tires, 190mm ground clearance, and 350mm water-wading capability.
- The vehicle includes 90-degree opening doors, a flat 2nd-row floor, 366 litres of boot space, 14 litres of added space in the frunk, and 32 cabin cubby holes for storage.
