Oben Electric delivers first 25 Rorr e-motorcycles in Bengaluru

The Bengaluru-based EV startup, Oben Electric, has successfully delivered the first 25 units of its electric motorcycle, the Oben Rorr, at INR 1,49,999 (ex-showroom) in Bengaluru. The delivery event, called ‘First 2 Rorr’ (F2R), took place at the company’s manufacturing facility in Jigani, Bangalore on July 9, 2023. To express their gratitude, Oben Electric provided exclusive merchandise to the first 25 customers at the event.

The Oben Rorr is one of India’s popular electric two-wheelers with some unique features. This includes a top speed of 100 km/hr, a range of 187 km (IDC), 2-hour charge time, a 4.4 kWh battery, and an 8 KW IPMSM motor. It also offers an acceleration of 0-40 kmph in just 3 seconds and includes several customer-centric benefits. These benefits include three free services within the first year, a 50,000 km/3-year warranty (extendable to 5 years or 75,000 km whichever is earlier), a 3-year motor warranty, free roadside assistance, and nationwide access to over 12,000 charging stations through charging partners.

Features of Rorr

The motorcycle’s performance, modern design, and smart features are the key factors for its popularity, said a statement. Additionally, the company’s in-house research and development, along with the manufacturing of the motorcycle, battery, and motor, allows Oben Electric to offer at a price of INR 1,49,999 (ex-showroom) compared to a 150cc petrol motorcycle. The lower operational costs associated with electric motorcycles make them an attractive option for customers.

With a total of 21,000 pre-orders, Oben Electric plans to expand its manufacturing capacity and establish showrooms and service centers in various cities and states across India. To support this growth, the company intends to double its team size in the coming months, as per the official statement by the company.
