Gogoro introduces battery swapping in Delhi and Goa| Unveils India-made CrossOver e-scooter for B2B
Gogoro Inc. (Nasdaq: GGR) has introduced its battery-swapping system in Delhi and Goa, with plans to expand to Mumbai and Pune by mid-2024. The company has also unveiled its first India-manufactured smartscooter, the CrossOver GX250.
Initially accessible to B2B customers in Delhi and Goa, Gogoro aims to bring their offerings to consumers directly from the second quarter of 2024 after expanding to Mumbai and Pune as per the official statement. The CrossOver series includes three models: CrossOver GX250, CrossOver 50, and CrossOver S. Out of these three models, the CrossOver GX250 is currently available, while the CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S are scheduled for shipment later in 2024.

Gogoro CrossOver Series

- The CrossOver GX250, Gogoro’s inaugural Smartscooter manufactured in Maharashtra, India, incorporates India-specific features requested by Gogoro pilot riders.
- With a redesigned all-terrain chassis, it boasts 176mm ground clearance.
- Powered by a 2.5 kW Direct Drive, achieves a top speed of 60+kph and a certified range of 111km.
- The new frame design enhances suspension system durability and accommodates larger loads(upto 200kg), prioritizing comfort and stability.
- Adaptable to various riding scenarios, it provides passenger space and diverse storage options, including a new mounting point expansion system with 26 locking points.
- Its flexible cargo capacity includes platform design headlight, foot, seat, and rear cargo space.
- The rear seat can be flipped up or removed to increase cargo storage as needed.

Certified by India’s ICAT in August, the CrossOver GX250 received recognition from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in November, making Gogoro the first foreign two-wheel OEM acknowledged for SIDBI’s EV financing programs.
Commercial Partnerships
Gogoro has entered into partnerships with some players in the EV ecosystem:

- Businesses and fleet operators, including Zypp, to facilitate the transition to sustainable delivery through battery swapping and Smartscooters.
- FutureEV for sustainable Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solutions, leveraging the GoShare platform for shared mobility deployments.
- Nebula Energy in Nepal, Gogoro deploys turnkey solutions by introducing battery swapping ecosystems and India-made Smartscooters in both domestic and international markets.
Gogoro’s battery swapping platform, recognized for urban vehicles, operates in Taiwan with nearly 600,000 riders and over 1.3 million smart batteries in circulation.
