Green SM has launched its electric taxi service, Green SM Limo, in New Delhi, marking its entry into the Indian market. India becomes the company’s fifth international market after Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
The launch event was attended by Shri Rao Narbir Singh, Minister for Industries & Commerce, Environment, Forest & Wildlife, Foreign Cooperation, and Sainik & Ardh Sainik Welfare, Government of Haryana; Dr. Virinder Sharma, Vice President of the Commission for Air Quality Management; representatives of government agencies; officials from the Embassy of Vietnam in India; and industry partners.
The company launched its operations on World Environment Day. Green SM stated that it aims to provide an electric mobility option for customers while creating employment opportunities for drivers and working with local stakeholders to support the adoption of electric transportation.
In the initial phase, Green SM Limo will operate in selected areas of the Delhi National Capital Region, with plans for further expansion. The service will use the VinFast Limo Green, a seven-seater electric SUV developed for passenger transportation. The vehicle is intended for applications including daily commuting, family travel, business travel, and airport transfers.
According to the company, vehicles will be equipped with amenities such as drinking water and wet tissues. The fleet also includes the Secure-to-Safe system, featuring interior and exterior cameras, AI-enabled technology, and emergency support buttons for drivers and passengers.
Green SM stated that its drivers undergo training in electric vehicle operations, road safety, and customer service.
Customers can book rides through the Green SM mobile application, via a hotline, or by hailing vehicles in service areas. To mark the launch, the company is offering a promotional discount of 50%, up to INR 250, on rides booked through the app between June 5 and June 11.
At the event, Green SM announced the addition of five local partners from the mobility, travel, technology, and services sectors to the Green Alliance Frontier, a platform focused on collaboration among businesses working on sustainability initiatives.
Nguyen Van Thanh, Global CEO of GSM, said “India is one of the most important mobility markets in the world. Its scale, rapid growth, and strong spirit of innovation are opening up many opportunities for the future of green transportation. We come to India with respect for the market, confidence in its long-term potential, and a commitment to working closely with local partners. Green SM hopes to bring high-quality fully electric rides to customers, while contributing to broader access to safe, reliable, and more sustainable mobility choices. We believe trust is the most important foundation for long-term growth. This is also what Green SM hopes to build with customers, partners, and communities in India in the years ahead.”
Founded in Vietnam in 2023, Green SM now operates in Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India. The launch in India marks the company’s latest international expansion and extends its electric mobility services to a new market.
