Musashi India signs LOI with Kinetic Green for 2W EV powertrain supply

Musashi India Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions Limited for the supply of integrated electric powertrain systems for the company’s upcoming two-wheeler platforms.

Under the agreement, Musashi India will supply side-mounted e-Axle systems comprising a motor, gearbox, and controller (VCU & MCU) for Kinetic Green’s electric two-wheelers. Pilot batch supplies are scheduled to begin in December 2026, followed by start of production (SOP) at Musashi Delta e-Axle India’s facility in Bengaluru.

The powertrain system will use a 4.7kW IPM motor integrated with a gearbox in a side-mounted e-Axle configuration. According to the company, the system integrates the gearbox, motor, and controller into a single unit aimed at improving range, reducing maintenance requirements, and enabling battery size optimization. The side-mounted design is also intended to provide additional luggage space compared to center-mounted systems.
