Keeway India Launches Hypevolt-R Electric Scooter in India

Keeway India has launched the Keeway Hypevolt-R electric scooter in India, entering the premium performance electric scooter segment. The scooter is priced at ₹1,99,000 (ex-showroom). Online bookings are open at ₹5,000 through the company’s official website and authorised dealerships. Deliveries will begin shortly after launch.

The Hypevolt-R uses a 5 kWh dual removable battery system (two 2.5 kWh packs) with support for both in-vehicle and external charging. It offers an IDC-certified range of 180 km and takes about 3 hours to charge from 0–80%.

It is powered by a mid-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 12 kW peak power, 6 kW rated power, and 72 Nm torque. It has a top speed of 115 km/h and accelerates from 0–40 km/h in 2.3 seconds. Riding modes include ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT.

Safety and rider assistance features include traction control system (TCS), dual-channel ABS, hill hold control, hill descent control, intelligent cruise control, blind spot detection, and a rear reverse camera. It also offers reverse mode for low-speed maneuvering.

The scooter features a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and OTA updates, along with USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports, keyless operation, and smartphone connectivity. It is built on a high carbon steel cage frame with telescopic front suspension and 5-step adjustable rear suspension. It offers 130 mm ground clearanceand has a kerb weight of 140 kg.

The scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels with 100/80 front and 120/70 rear semi-slick tubeless tyres and uses dual-channel ABS braking. Dimensions include a wheelbase of 1454 mm, seat height of 770 mm, and overall size of 2044 mm length, 798 mm width, and 1130 mm height. It offers 27 litres of under-seat storage and is available in Crystal White and Platinum Grey colour options
