Jupiter Electric Mobility and Porter sign MoU to empower drivers through JEM Udaan program
Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Limited, has announced a partnership with Porter, a goods transport agency providing intra-city and inter-city logistics solutions. This collaboration focuses on providing opportunities for drivers and small business owners to transition to electric commercial mobility through JEM’s JEM Udaan program.
Under this partnership, Porter will assist drivers and small business owners who choose JEM Tez, JEM’s electric light commercial vehicle, as their platform. Porter’s initiatives will support the onboarding of JEM drivers, providing tools to help them expand operations, increase earnings, and contribute to a more sustainable logistics system.
Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Group, stated, “At Jupiter Electric Mobility, we are driven by a vision to redefine the possibilities of sustainable business models in the logistics industry. Our partnership with Porter spotlights this commitment, combining cutting-edge technology with meaningful initiatives to uplift individuals and communities. The JEM Udaan program represents another pivotal step in this journey—empowering drivers to become entrepreneurs while contributing to a greener future. Together, we aim to create an ecosystem where sustainability fuels growth and prosperity, delivering long-term value to all our stakeholders.”
Tanuj Khandelwal, Vice President at Porter, said, “We are excited to be a part of the JEM Udaan Programme. This will be a meaningful step towards fostering a green logistics ecosystem. Through this initiative, we aim to empower individuals with entrepreneurial skills and enhance their livelihoods. Our collaboration with Jupiter Electric Mobility reflects a mutual commitment to sustainability and empowering individuals in logistics.”
The JEM Udaan program provides drivers and small entrepreneurs with business support, professional training, and access to electric vehicle resources through its dealership network. The program connects drivers and small businesses with companies seeking sustainable logistics solutions, aiming to promote electric mobility and support local operators.
Porter has a network of over 750,000 drivers across 22 cities and offers logistics solutions that prioritize delivery efficiency and reliability. According to the company, this partnership supports drivers by providing a structured pathway to entrepreneurship in the logistics sector while adopting sustainable practices. As demand for electric mobility and sustainable delivery solutions increases, this collaboration aims to build a model centered on drivers, businesses, and environmental considerations as per the company statement.
