CHARGE ZONE launches EV supercharging stations on key highways
CHARGE ZONE, an EV charging network provider, has announced the launch of supercharging stations on the Bangalore-Chennai and Bangalore-Hyderabad national highways. These stations have a combined capacity of 1.2MW, integrating solar microgrid systems and 1MWh of battery energy storage for uninterrupted charging services.
The stations are placed at intervals of 150-200 kilometers along key intercity routes, with additional regular charging points between them to improve accessibility. The newly launched stations feature DC fast chargers with capacities between 180KW and 240KW, supporting various EV types, including passenger vehicles, buses, and trucks.
CHARGE ZONE Founder & CEO Kartikey Hariyani said, “The launch of these mega supercharging stations represents a transformative step in advancing India’s EV ecosystem. By equipping the Bangalore-Chennai and Bangalore-Hyderabad highways with state-of-the-art charging technology, we are bridging critical infrastructure gaps and redefining the long-distance EV experience. These stations embody our vision of seamless, sustainable, and efficient electric mobility, empowering drivers to embrace a cleaner future without compromise.”
“But, it is battery energy storage with renewable energy integration that makes the Indian e-mobility ecosystem go further in terms of achieving net-zero emissions,” added Mr. Ravindra Mohan, Director, CHARGE ZONE.
According to the company, the stations are designed to achieve an 80% charge in 30 minutes. Solar power and energy storage systems are integrated to support sustainable and reliable operations. CHARGE ZONE aims to establish a network of 100 supercharging stations, each with a 240KW capacity, and expand its coverage across 40,000 kilometers of highways to meet increasing demand.
The new infrastructure will contribute to the national highway electrification program, with CHARGE ZONE already covering 40,000-50,000 km out of the target 150,000 km.
