eBikeGo launches electric scooter ‘Rugged’ starting Rs. 79,999/-

Deliveries to commence from November 2021. Claims a range of 160 kms per charge, top speed of 70 kmph and can be charged in 3.5 hrs. Available in two variants G1 and G1+ with ex-showroom pricing of Rs 79,999 and Rs 99,999 respectively. The price will be cheaper once the additional benefits from various governmental subsidies are included. The vehicle can be pre-booked at INR 499 from company website.

RUGGED features a 3kW hub motor that has been built in India, and comes with a 2 x 2 kWh battery that may be replaced. Rugged claims to be the only bike in the world that allows battery switching without the user getting off of the bikeT. he body of the vehicle is composed of a cradle chassis and steel frame and the EV has a storage capacity of 30 litres.

RUGGED will be manufactured in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in conjunction with Boom Motors. The company expects to reach a production capacity of 1 lakh vehicles soon and is confident in fulfilling pre-orders for its electric scooter in the coming months. In addition, Rugged is setting up experience centers in nine states and plans to have 3000+ charging stations. The EV will be available in all cities in India via online pre-booking and offline experience centres.
