Hero launches electric scooter ‘Vida V1’ starting at INR 1,45,000

Hero MotoCorp launched its first electric scooter from the brand VIDA, called “VIDA V1“, in an event at the Hero Global Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The company introduced two variants of the e-scooter – VIDA V1 PRO and VIDA V1 PLUS, priced at INR 1.59 lakh and INR 1.45 lakh, respectively (including FAME II and portable charger). The e-scooter would be first launched in New Delhi, Jaipur and Bangalore and the deliveries of this electric scooter will start from the second week of December.

“We wanted to launch the product earlier, but we had to get it right”, said company chairman Pawan Munjal during the launch event.

The V1 Pro claims an IDC range of 165 km and can go from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.2 seconds, while the V1 Plus has a range of 143 km and can hit 0-40 kmph in 3.4 seconds. Both scooters have a top speed of 80 kmph and fast charging rate of 1.2 km/min.

Vida V1 comes with three riding modes – Eco, Ride and Sports. It also has a Custom mode with 100+ combinations to prioritise range, performance and much more. Both the variants come with different features like 7″ touch screen, cruise control, two-way throttle, keyless control and S.O.S alert. The scooter comes with a removable battery and can be charged at home for the user’s convenience.

Apart from the launch of the Vida V1 electric scooter, the company also launched the VIDA Platform and VIDA Services along with the VIDA Charging network to ensure a worry-free EV Ecosystem. The bookings will commence from October 10 across Delhi, Bengaluru and Jaipur. A potential buyer can pay a token amount of Rs 2,499 to book the e-scooter.
