Following the launch, EVreporter spoke with Priyank Rakholiya, Founder of Avore Electric, Vinay Baheti, Head of Marketing and Brand at Avore Electric, and Nirmit Soni, Chief Designer & Director at Tugbotz Design, about the company’s product strategy, expansion plans, the design and development of the EX, and its vision for addressing evolving consumer concerns in the electric mobility sector. Edited excerpts are as below.

In Conversation with Priyank Rakholiya, Founder, Avore Electric:

Priyank: The first question we should ask is: why not an EV motorcycle? In India, motorcycles make up the highest-selling two-wheeler segment, yet it’s the exact space where EV penetration remains the lowest. It’s the largest potential market in the country. We believed that if we could offer the right product with the right specifications, we could successfully capture this massive, untapped segment.

Priyank: Most of the technology used in today’s EV motorcycles is imported, which means it wasn’t designed with the Indian mindset or road requirements in mind. When we designed our vehicle, we focused entirely on the specific needs of the Indian rider.

For example, the average Indian height is 5’6″, so we engineered the riding triangle specifically to ensure maximum comfort. Additionally, the average daily commute for a rider in India is around 40 to 45 kilometers. We built the entire vehicle around these daily realities, positioning our price point to reach a mass audience while still delivering high-end features.

Priyank: From day one, our principle has been simple: wherever we open a dealership, our service network opens right alongside it. We aren’t just focused on sales—service is at the core of our technology. We’ve integrated an “EV Doctor” system into our vehicles for predictive maintenance and real-time diagnostic support. By building our entire ecosystem around post-purchase support, we ensure our customers experience minimal downtime.

Priyank: Our plan is to go nationwide within the next two years. Because we are a growing company, we are rolling this out in calculated phases. We already have 15 dealerships onboarded and over 65 active dealer inquiries. We are systematically evaluating those applications as we continue expanding our pan-India footprint.

In a separate interaction with EVreporter, Vinay Baheti, Head of Marketing and Brand at Avore Electric, discussed the company’s market strategy, product approach and expansion plans.

Although the market appears saturated with electric commuter bikes that haven’t fully taken off, I believe the EV market is still in its infancy. There is immense scope for growth in electric motorcycles. We aim to be one of the key players helping build and develop this market alongside everyone else. For us, it’s not about competition; it’s about inclusivity and moving the industry forward together. That’s the core philosophy our brand stands for.

Through our research, we realized that industry pain points have evolved. Gone are the days when ‘range anxiety’ was the primary concern—today, it’s ‘charging anxiety’. A bike might offer a 300 km range, but riders still worry about what happens if it shuts down midway or if charging stations aren’t available.

To address this, made charging more accessible. You can charge our electric motorcycles using any standard 5A or 15A socket. Additionally, our integrated AI doesn’t just estimate travel time between Point A and Point B—it calculates the exact battery charge required for the journey. This allows riders to top up easily anywhere—whether at a highway dhaba, the office, or home—making electric mobility more practical.

We’ve also introduced a gear mode. Our goal was clear: transitioning from an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle to an EV should feel seamless and familiar, whether you’re riding a scooter or a motorcycle.

We built everything from the ground up with a clear mindset: we don’t aim to be ‘first to market’, but rather ‘right to market’. This principle guides our expansion as well. While we currently have dealerships in six cities and plan to expand to around 15 cities over the next six months, our primary focus is on consolidation—ensuring we deliver a consistent ownership and service experience before scaling further.

Initially, we are focusing on key markets in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi, after which we will expand further based on consumer feedback.

Nirmit Soni, Chief Designer & Director, Tugbotz Design spoke to EVreporter on the design aspects:

Nirmit: Above all else, the primary inspiration for this motorcycle was the people of India. We set out to create a vehicle with broad, everyday appeal—one that resonates as much with a young Gen Z rider as it does with a 45-year-old purchasing a reliable possession for their family. Our core goal was to build a motorcycle that is approachable, endearing, and built to stand the test of time.

Nirmit: Breaking into this segment is exceptionally tough because traditional biking is deeply rooted in visceral excitement, acceleration, and tactile mechanical feedback. When riders switch to electric vehicles—which offer seamless, silent smoothness—many find that transition jarring or difficult to connect with emotionally.

That exact challenge guided our design philosophy. We wanted this bike to feel friendly and accessible rather than intimidating. While many competitors try excessively hard to make their vehicles look overtly ‘futuristic’ or exaggeratedly electric, our approach focuses on pure relatability. We want riders to feel confident and comfortable—reassured that they aren’t riding something outlandish or overly complicated.

By eliminating that intimidation factor, we make it much easier for everyday consumers to take that first step and test-ride the bike. Once they experience the ride firsthand, they realize how remarkable and practical it is, without any of the strange quirks typically associated with electric motorcycles. That is precisely what we set out to achieve.
