Ather introduces new Rizta S variant starting at INR 137,047

Ather Energy, an Indian electric scooter manufacturer, has announced the launch of a new variant of its Rizta S electric scooter, featuring a 3.7kWh battery pack. This addition delivers an IDC-certified range of 159 km. The new variant is priced at INR 137,047 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is now available for test rides and purchase across India. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2025.

The Rizta family scooter line was introduced in 2024 as Ather’s offering focused on urban commuting and utility. According to the company, Rizta now accounts for over 60% of its total sales and recently crossed the 1 lakh units mark since launch. The new 3.7kWh variant expands the Rizta portfolio to four options, offering customers additional choice in terms of range and pricing.

Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, stated that “The Rizta has resonated strongly with families across the country, and the recent milestone of crossing 1 lakh Rizta scooters is a testament to the strong demand that we are seeing. As an ongoing quest to expand our portfolio addressing different consumer needs, we are excited to introduce the Rizta S with a higher range. With the new variant offering 159 km on a single charge, riders can confidently plan their day, making it ideal for commuters with high daily usage.”

The scooter includes a 34-litre underseat storage, with the option to expand by 22 litres through an accessory called Frunk. It retains the platform’s existing dimensions, seat size, and floorboard layout. Ather states that the new model has undergone the same quality checks and testing standards as its earlier products.

The 3.7kWh Rizta S comes with a 7-inch DeepViewTM display supporting navigation, and includes features such as AutoHoldTM, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, Tow & Theft Alerts, Find My Scooter, and Alexa Skills. It also supports over-the-air software updates. Charging options include access to the Ather Grid charging network with over 3,900 public charging points in India, as well as a home-charging setup.

Customers can opt for Ather’s ‘Eight70’ warranty program, which covers up to 8 years or 80,000 km, with a minimum 70% battery health guarantee. The model will be available at different ex-showroom prices across major cities: INR 137,258 in Mumbai, INR 137,999 in Bangalore, and INR 139,312 in Chennai.
