Simple Energy Raises ₹1,750 Crore in Series C Funding Round

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy has raised ₹1,750 crore (~USD 180 million) in an all-equity Series C funding round. The round was led by the Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani Family Office, with participation from Founder and CEO Suhas Rajkumar, Co-founder and CFO Ankit Gupta, Bengaluru-based HNI Amit Mishra and the Haran Family Office. According to the company, this is its largest funding round to date, taking its total capital raised to more than ₹2,530 crore.

Simple Energy said the capital will be deployed towards setting up a new manufacturing facility, increasing production, expanding its sales and service network, hiring, and R&D for its next product cycle. The company currently has a stated production capacity of 10,000 units per month and operates more than 80 outlets across over 60 cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Patna, Hyderabad and Chennai.

According to Simple Energy, its monthly sales have increased by more than four times over the past year. The company has also introduced two products, Simple Wave and Simple Ultra, during the past eight months, adding to its existing electric two-wheeler portfolio.

In June 2026, Simple Energy raised ₹250 crore through debt and equity, led by the Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani Family Office, with participation from Suhas Rajkumar and Ankit Gupta. The company’s investor base also includes Amit Mishra, Balamurugan Arumugam, Haran Family Office, Desai Family Office (promoters of Apar Industries) and Vasavi Family Office.

Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy, said, “This is a defining moment for Simple Energy. Over the past few years, we have built our core technology, products, manufacturing capabilities, and retail network in-house. This round gives us the capital to scale that foundation. Our priorities are a new manufacturing facility, higher production, an expanded distribution and service network, and the next generation of products. The continued support of our early investors reinforces our progress as we work to make Simple Energy one of India’s leading full-stack electric two-wheeler companies.”

Dr. A. Velumani, Creator – Thyrocare, AVMLabs & AVMSmiles, said,  “I have been with Simple Energy since the early days, and I now repent I didn’t know it earlier. Growth of 4x in a year says both the company and industry are growing rapidly. SEPL owns end-to-end technology for chassis, battery, motor, and software. That is very rare in the Indian EV vertical. The next phase will focus on scaling in manufacturing, marketing, and retail networks. With tailwinds of global challenges in fossil energy, Simple is well positioned to be in the top 3 players of the EV2W vertical in India in just 3 years.”

Founded in 2019, Simple Energy develops its chassis, battery, motor and vehicle software in-house. Its electric two-wheeler portfolio includes the Simple One, Simple Wave and Simple Ultra. The company also manufactures its electric powertrain and has developed a heavy rare-earth-free motor.
