VinFast opens pre-bookings for VF 7 and VF 6 electric SUVs in India

VinFast Auto India, the Indian subsidiary of Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast, has opened pre-bookings for its premium electric SUV models – VF 7 and VF 6 – across India. Customers can reserve the vehicles through VinFast showrooms or the company’s website by paying a fully refundable booking amount of ₹21,000.

The official launch of the models is scheduled for August 2025, following the inauguration of the company’s manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Deliveries are expected to begin thereafter. VinFast plans to assemble the vehicles at its Thoothukudi facility, which involves an investment of $500 million and a projected annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles. The plant is expected to generate around 3,500 direct jobs.

Both the VF 7 and VF 6 are designed to cater to Indian driving conditions and consumer preferences. The SUVs are equipped with features aimed at addressing range-related concerns, offering a balance of performance, convenience, and technology for city commutes and longer travel.

Model Features

  • VF 7: A mid-size electric SUV with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a large touchscreen interface, connected vehicle technologies, a panoramic glass roof, wireless charging, and LED lighting.
  • VF 6: A compact SUV designed for family use, featuring Level 2 ADAS, infotainment and connectivity features, a panoramic roof, and a focus on everyday usability.

Speaking on the Pre-Booking announcement, Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, said: “We are deeply encouraged by the overwhelming support from Indian consumers at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. It reaffirmed the country’s readiness and enthusiasm for sustainable mobility solutions. The VF 6 and VF 7 represent our vision of bringing world-class EVs tailored to local needs, and we’re confident that Indian customers will find these models not only competitive, but truly inspiring.”
