ThunderPlus partners with Evey Trans to develop 1.6 MW EV charging hub near Vijayawada

ThunderPlus has partnered with Evey Trans Private Limited to develop a 1.6 MW EV charging hub near Vijayawada, in Andhra Pradesh. The project aims to expand charging infrastructure along the Hyderabad–Vijayawada transport corridor.

The facility will be developed on a one-acre site at Kunchanapalli in Tadepalli, located along the highway connecting Hyderabad and Vijayawada. The charging hub is intended to serve electric buses, logistics and commercial EV fleets, passenger electric vehicles, and electric two-wheelers operating on intercity routes.

The charging hub will have a total installed capacity of 1.6 MW. Planned infrastructure at the site includes:

  • 7 DC chargers
  • Battery swapping infrastructure
  • Fast charging stations for electric two-wheelers

The facility is designed to support simultaneous charging for more than 50 electric buses and over 100 electric cars.

In addition to charging infrastructure, the facility will include operational support infrastructure such as bus servicing and repair bays, spare parts storage, driver training infrastructure, driver boarding and rest areas, and vehicle washing and maintenance zones. According to the companies, these facilities are intended to support EV fleet operations and intercity travel along the corridor.
