SWITCH Mobility launches IeV8 electric light commercial vehicle
SWITCH Mobility Ltd, a part of the Hinduja Group, has launched the SWITCH IeV8, an electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV) in the 7.2T category, designed for mid-mile logistics. The vehicle was unveiled by Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy, Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
The SWITCH IeV8 is part of SWITCH Mobility’s eLCV portfolio and is built for cargo transportation. The vehicle features advanced lithium battery technology, offering a range of 250 km on a single charge. It has a cargo space of up to 830 cubic feet, making it suitable for various logistics applications. The vehicle has a top speed of 80 km/h and supports fast charging to ensure operational continuity.
The IeV8 is equipped with Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS), an air-conditioned cabin, tiltable steering, and adjustable seating to support driver needs during operation. The vehicle is integrated with SWITCH iON, the company’s telematics system, offering real-time vehicle health monitoring, fleet management tools, and more than 50 additional features.

SWITCH Mobility leverages the engineering expertise of Ashok Leyland and Optare to develop electric mobility solutions. Since 2014, the company has deployed electric buses in multiple markets, with more than 950 vehicles operating globally and a cumulative distance of over 130 million kilometers.
