Olectra Becomes India’s First Company to Deploy 4,000 Electric Buses on Indian Roads

Hyderabad-based electric bus manufacturer Olectra Greentech Limited has become the first company in India to deploy 4,000 electric buses.

Olectra’s 4,000th electric bus was symbolically handed over to Hon’ble CM Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Dy. CM of Himachal Pradesh Shri Mukesh Agnihotri during the flag‑off of 297 new buses inducted into the HRTC fleet. The ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister, senior Himachal Pradesh officials, HRTC, and Olectra Greentech representatives.

As per the official statement of Olectra, the fleet of 4,000 electric buses has covered 730 million kilometres and prevented 6.5 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions. The MEIL Group subsidiary has an order book exceeding 8,500 vehicles.
