NBC Bearings conducts anti-counterfeiting raids in Delhi and Bengaluru

National Engineering Industries Ltd. (NEI), part of the CKA Birla Group and manufacturer of NBC Bearings, has carried out enforcement actions in Delhi and Bengaluru as part of its anti-counterfeiting initiatives. The operations were conducted in coordination with local authorities and an authorised third party and resulted in the seizure of counterfeit NBC-branded bearings and related equipment valued at over INR 2 crore.

In Delhi, based on complaints filed by NBC Bearings through an authorised third party, the DIU North District Police (PS Kashmere Gate) conducted raids in areas including Gali Rajan Kalan and Kashmere Gate. The seized materials included counterfeit bearings, empty cartons, pouches, dies, and laser-marking machines used for applying forged product codes.

Similar enforcement actions were undertaken in Bengaluru’s JC Road area, targeting entities involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit NBC products. Stamping and marking equipment was recovered during these operations. NBC’s technical teams, along with representatives from the authorised third party, assisted investigators in verifying the counterfeit products at the locations.

Rajesh Premchandran, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, NEI, stated “Counterfeit bearings pose a severe threat to vehicle safety and industry reliability. At NBC, we uphold a strict Zero Tolerance Policy against counterfeiting and remain committed to protecting our protecting our customers, and brand integrity.”

According to the company, the combined actions led to the identification and dismantling of manufacturing and distribution networks involved in producing counterfeit products. NEI stated that it will continue enforcement efforts as part of its broader anti-counterfeiting strategy.

NBC Bearings has advised customers to purchase products through authorised dealers and to use the NBC Connect App, available on Android and iOS platforms, to verify product authenticity.
