Manipur electric mobility policy – 2022
Objective
– At least 20% EVs in the state by year 2026
– Provide subsidy for early adoption of EV in terms of kWh capacity
– Create skilled workforce for EV industry in collaboration with technical institutions
– Mandate EV adoption in State Government
– Replace State Transport buses with electric buses in a phased manner
– Create an ecosystem for recycling and reuse of batteries
Demand Incentives
Motor vehicle tax for EVs purchased and registered in State will be provided as per below table:

Charging Infrastructure
– State government to identify land and encourage private investment at key locations for development of PCS
– Priority electricity connections to EV charging stations
– Government land will be provided free of cost to Central / State Government agency for 5 years for setting up PCS
– Single window clearance for development of charging stations
– Petrol pumps will be allowed to set up PCS
Skill Development and R&D
– Skill and mentor support shall be provided to EV related start-up
– Incentives will be applicable as per Manipur Start-up Policy, 2022
– Short term courses related to EV, EV charging stations and other related courses will be facilitated in collaboration with Polytechnic and Engineering Colleges
The manipur electric mobility policy – 2022 will remain in operation and valid for 5 years from the date of notification or till such time the government may deem fit and proper. The date of notification of the policy is 16 August 2022.
