Electric vehicle sales in India showed a mixed trend in October 2026. E2W sales increased to 2,23,964 units from 2,08,724 in September, while E3W L5 Passenger sales rose to 47,260 from 45,202. E-cart sales grew to 6,912 from 6,414, and E3W L5 Cargo sales increased to 6,868 from 5,423. E-Goods Carrier sales also rose to 4,124 from 3,375. However, e-rickshaw sales declined to 27,529 from 29,507, E4W sales fell to 36,745 from 38,321, and e-bus sales decreased to 768 from 823. Sales in the Others category increased to 114 units from 70 in September.

India recorded 33,33,424 EV sales from Nov 2025 to Oct 2026, per Vahan Dashboard data (excluding low-speed e-2Ws). Monthly sales peaked in October 2026 (3,54,284) and were lowest in February 2026 (2,03,748).

The penetration percentage of electric vehicles (EVs) in the two-wheeler (2W) category decreased from 11.6% in September to 9.7% in October 2026.

Tata Motors is the clear leader with over 42% market share in e-goods carrier sales in October 2026, followed by Euler Motors and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility.
