India’s electric vehicle (EV) sales saw a significant month on month rise in March 2025 across most categories. E2W sales surged from 76,583 in February to 1,30,375 in March, marking the highest increase. E-rickshaw sales rose from 32,358 to 36,094, while E3W L5 Passenger vehicles grew from 11,907 to 13,539. E-carts and E3W L5 Cargo/Goods also saw steady growth, reaching 7,222 and 2,701 units, respectively. E4W sales jumped from 9,372 in February to 12,343 in March, whereas E-bus sales dipped slightly from 307 to 277.

India recorded 19,65,025 EV sales from April 2024 to March 2025, per Vahan Dashboard data (excluding Telangana and low-speed e-2Ws). Monthly sales peaked in October 2024 (2,19,713) and were lowest in April 2024 (1,15,909).

The penetration percentage of electric vehicles (EVs) in the two-wheeler (2W) category increased from 5.7% in February 2025 to 8.7% in March 2025.

In March 2025, the electric three wheeler goods sales were led by Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, Bajaj Auto, and Euler Motors.

Tata Motors is the clear leader, with over 38% of the market share, followed by MG Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra.

Switch Mobility sold the most electric buses in March 2025, followed by Olectra Greentech and Aeroeagle Automobiles.
