Total Registered Electric Vehicle Sales – July ’22 – 78,603 | June ’22 – 73,313

E-2W and E-3W (Cargo & Passenger) vehicles accounted for 73,926 of the total 78,603 electric vehicles sold in July 2022.
Category wise-Sales Trend from July 2021 to July 2022

- In July 2022, 44,457 high-speed E-2Ws were sold, compared to 13,389 units in July 2021. Sales of the Electric 3W Passenger Vehicle (L3+L5) reached 26,733 units, a 168.35 per cent increase over the same month last year.
- Sales of Electric 3W Cargo Vehicles increased from 1,582 units in July 2021 to 2,736 units in July 2022, while the sales of electric 4W rose from 1,063 units to 4,434 units over the last year.

- In July 2022, electric vehicles made up 4.26% of the total 2Ws sold across India, up from 1.18% in July 2021.

Hero Electric topped the July 2022 sales chart with 8,953 unit sales, followed by Okinawa and Ampere Vehicles. TVS Motors registered a 119% month-on-month jump in iQube sales, while Ola Electric registered a decline of 35% M-o-M. Pure Energy did not come up in the top 10 list.
3W Passenger Sales Trend by Fuel Type, July ’21 – July ’22

In July 2022, electric vehicles made up a whopping 62% of the total passenger category 3Ws sold across India, up from 48% in July 2021. As seen in the graph below – YC electric, Mahindra & Mahindra, Saera Electric are the top 3 sellers of July 2022.

For E-3W Passenger vehicles, the top 10 OEMs contributed only 44% of the total sales in July 2022. Both L3 and L5 Electric 3Wheelers are included in the analysis.
3W Cargo Sales Trend by Fuel Type, July ’21 – July ’22

For the goods 3W segment, the EV penetration rose from 22% in July 2021 to 36% in July 2022. Mahindra & Mahindra, Omega Seiki and E Royce Motors were the leaders in the category.

For E-3W Cargo vehicles, the top 10 OEMs contributed only 51% of the total sales in July 2022. Both L3 and L5 Electric 3Wheelers are included in the analysis.
E-4W Sales Trend by OEM, June – July 2022

For the 4W segment, TATA motors remained the undisputed leader with 4,022 EV sales in July 2022, far ahead of second rung MG Motors.
