In 2026, India Records Increasing EV Penetration Across Vehicle Segments

18,95,803 EVs Registered in First 7 Months of CY2026

• From January to July 2026, India recorded 11.78 lakh e-2W sales, representing 8.9% EV penetration in the segment with an upward month on month trend.

• Among three-wheelers, L5 Pax(M) achieved 42.9% EV penetration with 1.99 lakh electric units, while L5 Cargo(N) reached 26% EV penetration.

• EV penetration stood at 6% for cars, 4.8% for buses, 3.4% for LCVs, and 0.4% for HCVs during this seven-month period.

E-2W dominates EV sales with 62.14% share from Jan to Jul 2026, while e-3W L5M accounted for 10.51% and e-4W made up 9.86% of total EV sales.
