IAN Group leads ₹27.4 crore Seed Round in e-TRNL Energy
IAN Group has led a ₹27.4 crore seed funding round in e-TRNL Energy through its second venture capital fund, IAN Alpha Fund.
The Bengaluru-based startup is developing battery cells by redesigning core cell architecture and manufacturing processes, with a focus on improving safety, reducing heat generation, enabling faster charging, extending lifecycle, and enhancing energy density.
e-TRNL Energy operates a 20,000 sq. ft. R&D and early-stage manufacturing facility in Bengaluru and holds two patents related to its battery cell design. It is currently working on product validation and demonstrating domestic manufacturing capability, with plans to set up a 250 MWh pilot facility by 2027.
The investment is aimed at supporting the development of an indigenous battery cell design and manufacturing platform to reduce reliance on imported cells and expand advanced energy storage capacity in India.
