Hindustan Zinc to deploy 10 electric trucks for inter-operations transport
Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group entity specializing in Zinc, Lead, and Silver, has partnered with Inland EV Green Services Pvt Ltd. This collaboration involves a contract for deploying 10 Electric Trucks, each capable of carrying 55 metric tons, specifically used for inter-operations transport of concentrates.
According to an official statement, these trucks have a charging time of 90 minutes, allowing them to charge from 20% to 100%. Crafted to withstand Indian conditions, these EV trucks have operated on Indian roads for over two years under the management of IPLTech Electric Pvt Ltd., a Murugappa group EV venture.

Led by the Somani family, the Inland Group prioritizes environmental and social responsibility. Operating as ‘Enviiiro Wheels,’ the company is dedicated to eco-friendly transportation, emphasizing sustainability through Inland EV Green Services Pvt. Ltd. alongside logistics services provided by HSD under Inland World Logistics Company.
In tandem with these efforts, Hindustan Zinc’s deployment of EV trucks aligns with their approved SBTi commitment to reduce 50% of absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions and further decrease 25% of absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by FY2030 from the base year FY2020. Their overarching goal for the company is to achieve Net-Zero emissions across the value chain by FY2050.
