GreenCell to deploy 1,222 electric buses in Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh

GreenCell Mobility has received a Letter of Award (LOA) for the supply and deployment of 472 Eicher electric buses in Madhya Pradesh under the PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme. The company has partnered with VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) for the deployment of electric buses across six cities in the state. Additionally, GreenCell Mobility will collaborate with Pinnacle Mobility Solutions (EKA Mobility) for the supply and deployment of 750 electric buses in 11 cities in Andhra Pradesh.

GreenCell Mobility is supported by Eversource Capital and is involved in electric mass mobility and related infrastructure in India. The company’s fleet of 900 electric buses is currently operational in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. These new contracts will extend GreenCell Mobility’s operations to Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

The PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme is a central government initiative to deploy 10,000 electric buses across India to support public transport electrification. In FY 2024-25, Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) floated a tender for 4,588 electric buses under this scheme.

GreenCell Mobility states that its electric buses offer a range of over 250 km per charge, along with fast-charging capability, AI-based energy management, and zero tailpipe emissions. The buses are also equipped with air conditioning, real-time tracking, CCTV surveillance, air suspension seating, low-noise operation, and safety systems.
