Compage Automation launches integrated powertrain solution for e-3Ws

Faridabad-based Compage Automation has launched a new product – IPT (Integrated Power Train) for electric 3Ws in the L5 category. IPT by Compage is the first powertrain solution combining the motor, gearbox, differential and controller into one package, said a company statement.

“E-commerce companies and fleet operators have been looking for reliable electric L5 vehicles that meet the driver requirement of speed and initial torque with reduced demand on the battery. We have come up with the IPT after providing solutions for more than 1200 e-3Ws and meeting great success with the electric Vikram of Scooters India. The Compage team has been working on powertrain solutions for L5 electric 3Ws for the past 5 years, and IPT brings in the best of all our learning”, said Akshay Aggarwal – Director at Compage Automation.

A huge demand also exists for ICE autos to be converted to battery L5 vehicles. Compage IPT can meet this demand as well, he adds.

The company says it has already delivered 50,000 traction motors for L3 category e-3Ws, and its motors and controllers have been approved by ICAT for more than 35 OEMs. Compage counts OEMs such as Escorts Kubota, Sonalika (ITL), Autonxt, and ACE among its existing clients who procure motors ranging from 600W to 320kW from the company. Compage has 20 years of experience in the design of PMSM motors with technology derived from Italian and German collaborations, alongside in-house capabilities in electronics and motor control design and development for the past 30 years.
