Bajaj Auto launches Riki e-rickshaw range| Prices start at INR 1,90,890
Bajaj Auto Ltd. has announced its entry into the e-rickshaw market with the launch of the Bajaj Riki series. The company stated that the product line is intended to support the three-wheeler driver community and address structural issues in the current e-rickshaw segment.
Industry demand for last-mile mobility continues to grow, with the e-rickshaw market adding more than 45,000 vehicles per month. However, challenges such as limited real-world range, short vehicle life due to battery-related issues, braking performance, chassis stability and limited service support continue to affect operational efficiency.
Bajaj Auto piloted the Riki series in Patna, Moradabad, Guwahati and Raipur, and will now roll out availability across more than 100 towns in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Assam in the first phase.
Product specifications include:
- Range up to 149 km (P4005) and 164 km (C4005)
- Monocoque chassis
- Independent suspension
- Hydraulic braking system
- Fast charging time of 4.5 hours
- 3-year battery warranty
The passenger model, Riki P4005, is equipped with a 5.4 kWh battery and is priced at INR 1,90,890 (ex-showroom). The cargo model, Riki C4005, offers a larger cargo tray and 28% gradeability. It is priced at INR 2,00,876 (ex-showroom).
