Where are the different categories of e-vehicles selling the most in India?

Observations | Absolute EV sales numbers from Apr – Nov 2024
- In the e-2W category, Maharashtra recorded the highest sales with 1,36,237 units, followed by Karnataka (97,873 units) and Tamil Nadu (77,670 units).
- The North and North-East states recorded the highest sales in the e-3W L5M segment, with Uttar Pradesh leading the way with 28,877 units, followed by Assam (8,565 units), Bihar (7,602 units), Tripura (5,122 units), and Jammu & Kashmir (4,639 units).
- Delhi (3,175 units) leads in the e-3W L5N category, followed by Tamil Nadu (2,056), Karnataka (1,872), Maharashtra (1,775) and Gujarat (1,308).
- In the e-4W category, Maharashtra accounted for the highest sales with 9,930 units, Karnataka with 9,061 units, and Kerala with 7,194 units.
- In the e-Bus segment, Delhi stood first with 777 units, while Maharashtra followed with 590, Karnataka with 381, Gujarat with 160, and Telangana with 104 units.
- In the e-Goods Carrier segment, Maharashtra accounted for the highest sales with 642 units, followed by Tamil Nadu (520 units) and Delhi (360 units).
Observations on EV penetration | Apr-Nov 2024
- The highest EV penetration in 2W sales was observed in Goa, where 5,973 e-2Ws were sold during the observation period, accounting for 16.3% of its 2W sales.
- Chandigarh has the highest EV penetration for three categories – 3W L5M, 4W, and LCVs.
- Delhi has the highest EV penetration in Buses, with 44.5% of bus registrations attributed to EVs.
