Ultraviolette announces second generation F77 electric motorcycle starting at INR 3.8 Lakhs
Bangalore-based electric 2-wheeler manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive announced their second generation F77 electric motorcycle starting at an ex-showroom price of INR 3.8 lakh. The company was founded in 2016, and the first-generation model was unveiled in 2019. Over the next 3 years, the company took its time through rigorous testing on different terrains and improving the product, especially on the battery pack- the biggest of any two-wheeled EV sold in India. Customers will also have access to one of the most comprehensive warranty offerings in the space, with the highest being 8 years/1,00,000 km.
Deliveries of the F77 will commence in January 2023 in Bengaluru, followed by a phase-wise expansion as mentioned.
- Q2 2023: Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and Cochin

F77 Model details
The F77 will be offered in three colour forms- Airstrike, Shadow, and Laser and each of the forms comes with two variants i.e., the F77 and F77 Recon with claimed IDC range of 206 km and 307 km respectively and offers three ride modes Glide, Combat and Ballistic. Furthermore, Ultraviolette announced a limited edition series of the F77, paying tribute to its future-focused vision, and only 77 units will be manufactured.
F77 Battery Pack
The F77 comes with a huge proprietary battery pack in the electric 2 Wheelers category, offered in two capacities, 7.1 kWh (SRB7) and 10.3 kWh (SRB10), all Aluminium IP67-rated. The company initially made swappable batteries as their prototypes but changed to fixed type to improve the range of the bike. The battery architecture and BMS are designed and developed in-house by Ultraviolette which claims a range of 206 km for the lower variant and 307 km for the higher variant. The battery pack supports up to 35 km of range per hour on a standard charger and up to 75 km of range per hour on a boost charger.

F77 Motor and specifications
The F77 model comes with a permanent Magnet AC Motor with ride-by-wire technology and the top model produces a staggering 95 Nm of peak torque and 29 kW (38.9 HP). The limited edition model will be available in meteor grey with afterburner yellow. It comes with 30.2 kW (40.5 HP) of peak power and 100 Nm of peak torque, delivering 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 152 km/h.
F77 hardware and features
The Steel Trellis Aluminium frame of the F77 is supported by up-side down forks in the front and a mono-shock at the rear with all-LED lightning and a TFT display that will show various information to the rider. The two-wheeler is equipped with avionics-inspired vehicle electronics and battery technology and comes with a suite of smart systems that take advantage of data from an array of sensors to offer a hyper-connected rider experience connected via a smartphone app. Features such as preventive maintenance, ride analytics, service, anti-theft and real-time data interpretation through the display and an app are available.
