SUN Mobility unveils swapping solution for franchisee model and a new battery pack at AutoExpo 2023
Battery swapping solutions provider SUN Mobility has launched SwapX – a fully automated battery-swapping solution, and its next generation of Battery Pack – S2.1 at AutoEXpo 2023.
SwapX is a plug-and-play battery-swapping solution that caters to a mass customer base, especially small and medium businesses like pharmacy chains and department stores, to set up and manage Swap Points™ at their premises. The solution will be offered in a franchisee model and aims to address concerns of lack of infrastructure and long charging or waiting time by increasing network density. It will basically help entrepreneurs to be a part of the EV revolution via a franchise model. It requires a 15-amp socket and up to 6 sq ft of space at an establishment, and multiple stations can be stacked together to facilitate additional swapping requirements in the area.
The battery pack – S2.1, has a capacity of 2.1 kWh, offers 45% more range and ensures interoperability, said a company statement. The pack is AIS156 (Phase 1 certified).

It helps us improve network density with S2.1 addressing range anxiety. Soon, users will have access to the new generation of battery packs and SwapX stations across India,” said Chetan Maini, Co-founder, and Chairman, SUN Mobility.
SUN Mobility has deployed over 240 Stations at Swap Points™ in more than 18 cities in India.
