MG Motor and Zeon Electric collaborate to expand EV charging network

MG Motor India entered into an memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Zeon Electric Private Limited on December 27, 2023 to enhance the existing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This collaboration marks MG’s sixth partnership with a charging point operator (CPO) towards development of a more accessible and efficient EV charging ecosystem in India. This will address the lack of adequate charging infrastructure and support the growth of electric vehicles in the country.

As per MG Motor India’s official statement, the partnership will focus on strengthening the EV ecosystem in key locations, including highways, cities, and MG dealerships in Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra. MG customers will receive preference for charging at Zeon kiosks, which will be seamlessly integrated into the MyMG App and displayed on iSmart infotainment screens. Zeon’s 300+ AC and DC chargers in key locations will be added to MG’s existing network of 12,000 chargers.
