LeafyBus and Eicher to Deploy 100 Electric Intercity Sleeper Buses Across India

LeafyBus has partnered with Eicher Trucks & Buses (VECV) to deploy 100 Skyline Pro E 13.5m electric intercity sleeper buses on major national routes. The rollout will begin with 35 buses by March 31, 2026.

LeafyBus already operates daily long-distance electric services on the Delhi–Dehradun route and is expanding nationwide. The deployment will be supported through an electric bus leasing program by Enetra EV Private Limited, with USD 4.1 million in funding directed toward fleet growth, charging infrastructure, and new route development.

The Skyline Pro E 13.5m electric sleeper bus features a 36+D upper and lower berth layout, a 400 kWh LFP battery, and a 235 kW permanent magnet motor, supported by air suspension, advanced braking, and energy-efficient systems for intercity operations. As part of its national expansion strategy, LeafyBus plans to add at least one new EV travel corridor every month, with LeafyBus and Eicher jointly working on route planning, charging infrastructure, uptime solutions, and operational support.
