Hubject partners with Numocity to enable Plug&Charge across multiple markets
Hubject has partnered with Numocity to integrate ISO 15118-based Plug & Charge functionality into Numocity’s charging management platform, enabling Charge Point Operators (CPO) and eMobility Service Providers to offer automated charging services across markets including India, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. Hubject operates an eRoaming platform connecting CPOs and eMobility Service Providers to charging infrastructure across multiple countries, while Numocity provides software platforms for EV charging, battery swapping, and grid integration used by utilities, fleet operators, and OEMs across various markets.
Under the partnership, Numocity’s platform will support Hubject’s Plug & Charge technology, enabling compatible electric vehicles to authenticate automatically at supported charging stations without the use of mobile applications or RFID cards. The integration is expected to support charging networks operated by CPOs using Numocity’s software in multiple regions.
The collaboration also provides Hubject’s existing CPO partners with an option to enter or expand operations in India, Asia-Pacific, and Middle Eastern markets using Numocity’s platform. At the same time, Numocity gains access to Hubject’s network of automotive manufacturers and technology providers.
Hubject CEO Christian Hahn said “This partnership with Numocity marks an important milestone in our global expansion of Plug&Charge technology. India and the Middle East represent some of the fastest-growing EV ecosystems in the world and are essential to our global ambitions. Numocity’s software platform approach enables CPOs across these regions to manage and scale their charging networks effectively. We’re excited to empower operators in these emerging markets to offer seamless and secure charging experiences.”
Numocity CEO Ravikiran Annaswamy stated “In the complex, fast-evolving markets of India, APAC, and MEA, the user experience is often broken by multiple apps and payment friction. Our collaboration with Hubject solves this by deploying true Plug & Charge technology, allowing the vehicle and charger to communicate automatically for instant authentication. This shift eliminates the need for manual input, delivering a frictionless, ‘zero-touch’ charging experience that is critical for accelerating mass EV adoption. By prioritizing simplicity and reliability, we are setting a new global benchmark for digital trust in these regions.”
Key outcomes of the partnership include:
- Deployment of Plug & Charge functionality for CPOs using Numocity’s platform across India, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East
- Market entry support for Hubject’s CPO partners through Numocity’s software platform
- Automated vehicle authentication at compatible charging stations
- Support for EV charging adoption through standardized charging processes
The integration uses ISO 15118 standards to enable secure communication between vehicles and charging infrastructure managed through Numocity’s platform. Further details on implementation and rollout timelines are expected to be announced later.
