Formula Bharat 2026 Concludes, Announces Autonomous Category and Academic Integration for 2027

Formula Bharat 2026 concluded, completing the 10th edition of the competition. The event included participation from over 60 student teams from across India. The competition had Combustion and Electric categories, with teams evaluated on design, cost, business presentation, and on-track performance. The winners in the Combustion category were Camber Racing, Eclipse Racing, and Ikshvaku Racing. In the Electric category, the top teams were Veloce Racing, Raftar Formula Racing Electric, and IIT Bombay Racing.

The competition announced the introduction of an Autonomous Category, which will start in Formula Bharat 2027. Registrations for Formula Bharat 2027 will begin in March 2026. The event also presented a plan to integrate Formula Student projects into academic curricula, allowing student participation to be formally recognized as part of academic coursework with credit.

Formula Bharat 2026 included the Indian Hardware Startup Meet and India’s first Formula Student Autonomous Vehicle showcase. These activities allowed student teams and startups to engage with industry representatives, present technology, and explore opportunities in mobility, robotics, and energy systems.

The competition concluded with a focus on continued collaboration between students, universities, startups, and industry. Future editions will continue to provide a platform for engineering projects, vehicle development, and participation in Combustion, Electric, and Autonomous categories.
