Electric Commercial Vehicle Sales Trend in India | Apr 2025 – Nov 2025

This analysis covers commercial electric vehicle sales for the Goods Carrier (N1, N2, N3), Buses, and Tractor categories. As per CMVR classification:

N1: GVW not exceeding 3.5 tons | N2: GVW between 3.5 and 12 tons | N3: GVW exceeding 12 tons. For this analysis, N1 and N2 have been clubbed as LCV, while the N3 category has been displayed as HCV.

  • The N3 category recorded 419 EV units sold during Apr 2025 – Nov 2025. IPL Tech leads with 139 units, followed by Energy In Motion with 95 units.
  • The combined N1 and N2 categories’ EV sales accounted for 7,556 units. In the segment, Tata Motors leads with 3,138 units, followed by Mahindra Last Mile Mobility with 1,934 units.

  • 1,70,326 Heavy Goods Carriers were registered in India from Apr 2025 to Nov 2025, of which 419 were electric.
  • Maharashtra recorded the highest market share with EV penetration of 0.6% with 153 e-N3 units sold, followed by Haryana with 0.3% (63 units) and Karnataka with 0.5% (45 units).
  • In Maharashtra, IPL Tech led the market with 69 units, followed by Energy in Motion with 54 units. While in Haryana, Energy in Motion led the market with 41 units, followed by IPL Tech with 12 units.
  • In Karnataka, Ashok Leyland and IPL Tech sold 21 units each in the period.

  • Blue Energy has entered the segment with BEM5548e e-truck.
  • Energy in Motion launched its swappable electric truck in August 2025.

358,921 LCVs were registered in India from April 2025 to Nov 2025, of which 7,556 were electric, for an EV share of 2.1% in the category.

  • Maharashtra recorded the highest sales share, with EV penetration of 2.9% and 1,588 units, followed by Tamil Nadu with 3.9% EV penetration (1,079 units) and Delhi with 6.5% EV penetration in the category (787 units).
  • Tata Motors led the top five states with an overall 41.5% market share, while Mahindra Last Mile Mobility secured the second position with 25.6% market share.
  • In Maharashtra, Tata Motors has led the market with 830 units, followed by Mahindra LMM with 337 units and VE Commercial with 116 units. Pimpri Chinchwad recorded 164 e-LCV units sold, followed by Thane with 144 and Pune with 130.
  • In Tamil Nadu, Tata Motors led the market with 301 units, followed by Mahindra LMM with 280 units and Switch Mobility with 162 units. Chennai has recorded 235 e-LCV units, followed by Perambalur with 127 units.

79,286 Buses were registered in India from Apr 2025 to November 2025, of which 2,913 were Commercial electric buses, and 3 were electric Educational Institution buses.

  • Delhi recorded the highest e-bus sales, with EV penetration of 51.9% and 1,039 units sold, followed by Maharashtra with 10.4% EV penetration (1,036 units) and Tamil Nadu with 7.8% EV penetration (326 units).
  • In Delhi, PMI Electro Mobility led the sales with 613 units, followed by JBM Auto with 320 units.
  • While in Maharashtra, Olectra Greentech led the market with 636 units, followed by Pinnacle Mobility (EKA) with 269 units.
  • In Tamil Nadu, Switch Mobility led the market with 314 units, followed by Azad India with 12 units.
  • The top five selling states together accounted for nearly 91.4% of the total market share.

45,225 Commercial Tractors were registered in India from Apr 2025 to November 2025, of which 180 were electric with 0.4% EV penetration.

  • During this period, Maharashtra recorded the highest e-tractor sales with 147 units, followed by Odisha (12 units) and Andhra Pradesh (10 units).
  • In Maharashtra, Autonxt Automation has led the sales with 141 units, followed by TI Clean Mobility with 6 units.
  • In Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, TI Clean Mobility sold all 12 units and 10 units, respectively.
  • Only five states (as shown in the image) recorded e-tractor sales between April 2025 and November 2025.
